Q: Is there a fee for the first meeting?

A: No. The focus of our first meeting with you will be to get to know your project needs, develop a preliminary budget and discuss overall project feasibility.

 

 

Q: Is there a fee to prepare a price for my project?

A: No. There is no fee for estimating your project.

 

 

Q: Can you do design build?

A: Absolutely. This is what we specialize in.  We are a Design/Build Group from the conceptional stage to completion.  We will do the complete CAD design, engineering, permits & build your dream project.  We will start with an overall outline of your project, work with you to develop a project budget and design a project that fits your needs, your budget and your lifestyle. Having the design and construction team present through this process not only saves time but also money.

 

 

Q: Does It Make Sense to Remodel My Existing Home?

A: You should remodel your home when:

• You love your neighborhood.
• You like your current home with a few exceptions.
• You have an emotional attachment to your home and have the money to make the changes.
• You would rather invest money in your home than in closing costs and moving costs.

 

 

Q: How do I get started with the remodeling process?

A: This is the easy part and you have several choices. Give us a call, shoot us an email, or fill out our online request form. We will schedule a time that is convenient for you and come to your home and discuss your project. We will usually get to this first meeting within a few days.  

 

 

 

Q: Do I need an architect for my project?

A: Usually not, we are a complete Design/Build Group, built on a solid Foundation.

 

 

Q: Can I stay in my home during the remodeling project?

A: Obviously this depends on the project but in most cases the answer is yes.

 

 

Q: How long has Builders Choice TM been in business?

A: Founded in 1984 Builders Choice TM has been in business for over 26 years!

 

 

Q: When can you start my project?

A: Our first visit to your home can usually be scheduled within one week of your first contact. From that point, we will begin work on the design and pricing portions of your project almost immediately. The start of the construction phase of your project will be determined by the scope of the design and sometimes the selection of the various products for your home. We can provide you with a realistic time frame after our first meeting at your home.

 

 

Q: How are my project payments structured?

A: Our Construction Contract will spell out the draw amounts.

 

 

Q: Do I have to plan for contingencies?

A: While we don't have X-Ray vision, our extremely thorough pricing and design process will eliminate most all unwanted surprises from your project. Most changes to our projects are generated by the "While You're Here" list from our clients. If you have that list, we encourage you to let us know about it up front.  We can account for that additional work in the beginning and you will have a more complete budget expectation.

 

 

Q: Can you build in the winter?
A: Sure. We can build in all seasons and because of better technology, with respect to concrete work, it makes it easier for any stage of the home to be started or finished. The bad part about building in the winter, is that it will typically take longer because of the weather conditions.
 

 

Q: Are there any limitations as to the type of building you can construct?

A: No. As a licensed general contractor with a R100 classification,  we are authorized in all types of residential construction.

 

 

Q: Can I be involved in some of the building process?

A: Yes. This is something that will be discussed in the bid stage of the project. If you want to do some of the work on your project, please let us know up front.

 

Q: What types of projects do you specialize in?

A:Residential remodeling is our main focus. Most of our projects consist of additions, basements, kitchens and bathrooms.  In addition, we build decks and garages.

 

 

A: Can you help with financing?

Q: While we do not offer financing directly we do have contacts with some competitive banks and mortgage lenders that we are happy to share with you.

 

 

Q: Can you work within my budget?

A: Absolutely!  Early in the process, we will work with you to establish a budget you are comfortable with and will work closely with you to design and build a project that fits that stated goal.
